- Do you check my credit?
We do run a soft credit check to determine if a deposit is necessary to get your account connected – but don’t worry. This won’t impact your credit score.
- How quickly can I switch to Energy Texas?
You can sign up online in a matter of minutes! All you have to do is choose a plan and submit your information – we’ll handle the rest, including contacting your old provider to let them know you’re switching. Your new plan will start within seven days, or whenever you’ve scheduled service to begin.
- What are your payment methods?
Energy Texas accepts all four major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover), e-check, and a physical check mailed to the billing address on your bill.
- Will I have to pay a deposit?
Depending on the results of your soft credit check, you may be required to submit a refundable deposit when you sign up with Energy Texas.
- What are the benefits of entering into a contract or fixed-term plan?
Signing up for a plan with a contract doesn’t necessarily save you money, but it does guarantee your rate will be the same for the length of the contract term. Your rate is based on what Energy Texas thinks the market will behave like over the length of the contract term and thus you are protected from price spikes due to unexpected market conditions. Examples are spikes due to extreme weather, hurricanes, shortages of supply,etc.
- Does Energy Texas offer AutoPay?
Yes! You can sign up for autopay when you enroll as an Energy Texas customer. Sign up with one of our Customer Care Agents or sign up in your Energy Texas MyAccount. Autopay ensures your payment will never be late and allows you to earn more stars in the Ranger Rewards Program which are good to be redeemed for prizes & credits!
